To Change Your Password

Each HPF WebStation window has a button that allows you to change your password. When you enter a valid old password and a valid new password (two times), the system changes your password for HPF WebStation and HPF Workstation. This activity is audited.

Note: This feature is available in HPF WebStation only. In HPF Modules for Physician Portal, you must have a Vignette user name and password in addition to an HPF Workstation user name and password, and you must use HPF Workstation to change your login information.

You can change your password within HPF WebStation only if the Directory Services Authentication feature is disabled. The Directory Services Authentication feature permits you to log on to Horizon Patient Folder applications with your Windows credentials instead of your HPF credentials. If the feature is enabled, you cannot change your HPF-based password. The feature is controlled through the HPF Workstation application.

To change your password:

  1. Access any HPF WebStation window.
  2. Click the Change Password button.
  3. Enter your old password in the Old Password field.
  4. Enter your new password in the New Password field. You must enter at least three characters; a maximum of 10 characters is allowed.
  5. Your new password cannot be the same as your old password. Passwords are case sensitive.

Note: In your password entry, do not use special characters such as apostrophes, quotes, and forward or backslashes. Currently, McKesson certifies that the following characters are acceptable in all cases and do not cause unexpected results: 0 through 9, A through Z (uppercase), a through z (lowercase).

  6. Re-enter your new password.
  7. Click OK.
